Press Releases 2017

Young Innovations shows its colours

Heidelberg, November 21, 2017 – The American dental group Young Innovations is not only globally present with its products, it has also been engaged in social projects worldwide for decades. Social responsibility is part of the company’s philosophy – not only at Christmas time.

Most prominent among those provided with long-term support have been certified organisations such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Oral Cancer Foundation and the “Give Kids a Smile” initiative. It offers underprivileged children free dental treatment from prevention to restoration. Since 2002, more than five million patients have been treated. Young Innovations subsidizes these and other groups with products, financial support or training scholarships, for example for dental hygienists.

The employees of Young Innovations are also working for a good cause: At the European logistics center, deliveries are primarily made for dental customers, but for the past seven years, Christmas parcels have also been filled with donations by employees and sent out to people in need in Africa.

Disadvantaged children are also reached by the “Back to School” campaign. At the beginning of the school year, children’s satchels are equipped with the necessary exercise books and pens and extras such as toys, toothbrush and toothpaste. In addition, a team of dental hygienists visits selected schools and orphanages around the world. The children receive free professional dental cleaning, including fluoridation and sealants, and are taught how to look after their teeth.

Young Innovations: Highlights for the Fall

Heidelberg, September 6, 2017 – From October to December Young Innovations will be presenting its product range at ten European trade fairs. Visitors can look forward to new products and take part in a prize draw. Moreover, some of the company’s top sellers will be available on site and on the dental market at reduced prices.

Special conditions apply to dental pastes and DPAs from the Young Dental and Zooby® series of prophys, as well as to DryTips® parotid patches, and Ultrabrush and TRU applicators from Microbrush®.

At Fachdental in Stuttgart, Infodental in Frankfurt and AFD in Paris, Young Innovations will be on hand to present its solutions for restorative dentistry, such as the ContactPro® matrix system. Various disposable applicators from Microbrush® will also be presented. All are flexible and remain in the desired position without springing back. Non-absorbent fibers allow for excellent uptake and release of dental fluids, as well as their precise positioning and application.

Young Dental’s assortment of prophys will also be shown. New polishing cups, disposable prophy angles, as well as pastes for professional tooth cleaning will be on display too. The Zooby® brand is the place to start for children. The colorful products are decorated with fun animal designs, thus ensuring a relaxed atmosphere.

Reflective DryTips® from Microbrush® are a plus for every treatment. The parotid patches keep the teeth dry during treatment and are an ideal supplement to saliva ejectors and cotton-rolls. This is because the extremely absorbent pads are placed on the inside of the cheek right in front of the largest saliva gland. These Reflective Dry Tips have a silver film which generates greater brightness, important when working with a microscope, for example.

Practical help from Microbrush®

Heidelberg, August 22, 2017 – Microbrush® presents various disposable applicators for the precise and economical use of dental liquids. All are flexible and designed to remain in the desired position without rebounding. Non-absorbent fibers hold the solution and allow for excellent release and accurate placement of material.

The Microbrush® applicator is suitable for applying cement, bonding and etching agents, calcium hydroxide paste, sealants and Disclosing Solution. The fixed brush head prevents dripping and is suitable for cleaning. Seven colors are available for varying or multi-stage treatments, as well as different sizes from Regular (2 mm), to Fine (1,5 mm) and Superfine (1 mm).

The Microbrush® X applicator is used for endodontic treatments, fissures and gluing of pins. It can be bent up to 90 degrees, has a thin, long tip and is thus suitable for very narrow spots. The flexible head has short, solid fibers for uniform and controlled application of the material.

The TRU™ by Microbrush® applicator is available for particularly demanding tasks. Its 12 cm long handle provides maximum control. The tip can be bent in two places, which allows access to areas that would otherwise be difficult to reach. This useful tool is available in seven different sizes and colors, and in four strengths from Regular (2 mm) to Ultrafine (0,5 mm).

The UltraBrush® bristle brush applicator is ideal for applying desensitizing agents, whitening agents, fluoride, fissure sealing, and for large amounts of liquid. Its chemical-resistant fibers are able to withstand even aggressive dental substances. It is offered in two sizes: UltraBrush® Regular Size with 200 fibers for spreading thicker material, and UltraBrush® Fine Size with 100 fibers for more precise application.

The Micro-Stix™ applicator has an adhesive point on its head. It is therefore ideal for lifting and navigating veneers, crowns, brackets and inlays. It is removed with a slight twisting motion. The applicator’s tip retains its adhesive effect, so the applicator can be used multiple times for one patient.

All Microbrush® applicators are available in convenient dispensers for hygienic removal or in refill cartridges.

More fun at the dentist with Zooby®

Heidelberg, June 27, 2017 – Zooby® was developed for the professional cleaning of children’s teeth. The colourful prophylactic products are decorated with motifs from A for Alligator to Z for Zebra. Young patients can select an animal friend that accompanies them throughout the treatment. This makes everything more tolerable and paves the way to optimal oral hygiene.

Depending on the prevailing mood, high-quality prophylactic angle pieces are available with tiger, flamingo, penguin, cheetah or zebra motifs. A number of polishing agents are also available in popular flavours. Special ingredients ensure less splatter and optimal removal of discolouration. The professional teeth cleaning process includes the thorough removal of coatings and the cleaning and polishing of not only the tooth surfaces but also the interdental spaces. This minimises the risk of caries and complications. Correct brushing techniques are also explained and practiced.

The colourful products from Zooby® involve children in a playful way from the very beginning of the process. Kids enjoy anxiety-free therapy in a relaxed atmosphere. This creates a positive basis for further visits to the practice, as well as forming a basis for trust that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Simply better: Prophylaxis with Young Dental

Heidelberg, April 26, 2017 – Young Dental presents new products for professional tooth cleaning. The disposable prophy angles, pastes and polishing cups convince with remarkable efficiency, remove discoloration and achieve significant tooth whitening.

The ph-neutral pastes are less abrasive than comparable products and moreover vegan, sugar- and gluten-free. The varieties “Mint” and “Berry” are available in colorful single doses and therefore easy to identify. The accompanying, sterilizable holder simplifies fixing the paste while polishing.

Disposable Prophy Angles have a small, round head and a particularly narrow design, granting the therapist greater visibility and accessibility. The single-use products reduce the risk of infection, plus save time and money as no sterilization or preparation is required and the handpiece is less susceptible to wear and tear. The two-colored DPAs in the Elite Cup and Petite Web Cup designs are available either in a straight version or with ergonomic 17 degree contrangle, to reduce the muscle fatigue.

The matching Young Dental Prophy Cups are made of special in-house rubber, offering greater flare, reducing splatter and helping achieve an excellent polishing result. The two-colored cups come in various lengths and degrees of hardness, from firm to extra soft. They are free from latex and available with either a latch/RA or screw type attachment. Five different designs are offered, so that the user can meet patients’ individual requirements. The Elite-Cup has additional external ridges, which aid in the polishing of interdental spaces. The cups are individually blister packed to avoid cross-contamination.

IDS highlights from Young Innovations

Heidelberg February 9, 2017 – The leading dental manufacturer Young Innovations is launching numerous innovations at the IDS trade fair.

ContactPro®, the matrix system from Microbrush® for class II restorations, is celebrating its premiere. Three different kits with ribbons, rings and wedges as well as high-quality precision instruments made of stainless steel are available. A special feature is the ring with memory effect: it retains its perfect fit and the elasticity even after many applications and thus minimizes the excess formation of the composite. Just as helpful is the SmartView Clip, which guarantees unrestricted visibility and free access to the workspace.

Also presented is Young Dental, the world-renowned line for professional teeth cleaning. Shown are new polishing cups, disposable Prophy contra-angle handpieces and pastes for polishing and removal of discoloration. These convince with remarkable efficiency, excellent brightening and neutral ph value.

For the professional cleaning of children’s teeth, the brand Zooby® is at the start. The colorful prophylactic products are decorated with animals from A like alligator to Z like zebra. This ensures anxiety-free therapy in a relaxed atmosphere and creates a positive foundation for the next visit to the practice. Young patients can choose from a wide variety of polishing pastes in popular flavors.

Another innovation is Reflective DryTips® from Microbrush®. The parotid patches keep the teeth dry during the treatment and are an ideal complement to saliva ejectors and cotton rolls, because the extremely absorbent pulp cushions are placed on the inside of the cheek directly in front of the largest salivary gland. The pads are coated on one side with silvery foil, which is aligned to the row of teeth. This results in significantly more brightness, for example for the application of the microscope.

A plus for every treatment

Heidelberg, January 18, 2017 – Microbrush® presents new reflective parotid patches that protect teeth effectively from moisture during dental treatment. Reflective DryTips® are an ideal supplement to saliva ejectors and cotton rolls because the extremely absorbent pulp pads are placed on the inside of the cheek directly in front of the largest parotid gland, keeping the area dry for the required period of time.

The pads are coated on one side with silvery foil, which is aligned to the row of teeth. This results in significantly more brightness and a better view, which is advantageous when using the microscope for example.

Draining is necessary for many measures, such as fillings, impressions, caries therapy and orthodontics. The flat dry tips require little space and thus simplify the procedure in the oral cavity. They adhere well to the mucous membrane and are so elastic that they adapt to the facial expressions. They stay in place, store the liquid without releasing it and are easily removed with water spray.

Reflective DryTips® are available in two different sizes and obtainable in the dental trade. A video with instructions for using the products can be found at http://microbrush.eu/products/moisture-control/dry-tips-2/
